In 1995, the Sheriff’s Office assumed all civil and criminal warrant responsibilities from the City of Knoxville, and today the Warrants Division takes a proactive stance in its service to the citizens of Knox County. The Warrants Division offers the expeditious and professional service of both civil and criminal warrants. The Division employs thirty-six Warrants Officers and additional support personnel housed at the City-County Building. In 2006, the Warrants Division cleared nearly 28,000 criminal warrants and served over 27,000 civil warrants.
