The Support Services Division provides the public with records and reports relating to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and all area law enforcement. The Division handles local, state and federal information relating to criminal and vehicle records, missing persons, and stolen property. In addition, Support Services provides operational support to all officers and employees of the department through accurate record keeping as well as the factual reporting of all offenses.

The workload for this Division is impressive. It handled approximately 319,342 telephone requests for 2004. It processed 16,704 incident reports and typed the same number of incident cards. It also processed 28,386 arrest reports and an equal number of arrest cards. Support Services created 1,881 photo line-ups and completed 44,626 record checks for the general public.
