The Knox County Judicial System is comprised of eighteen courts.  The Court Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office are charged with maintaining a safe and orderly environment during court proceedings.  Along with securing the facility with scanners and metal detectors, the officers are specially trained in personal security, courtroom procedures and responsibilities.
