Effective law enforcement programs require the concern, active participation and cooperation of the citizens to succeed. No matter how well organized, equipped, or highly motivated a law enforcement agency may be, it cannot function effectively without the cooperation and involvement of citizens such as yourself in the community.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of the Special Services Division, offers numerous opportunities for local residents to exercise their civic pride to become involved in community policing efforts. Volunteer programs include:

Chaplain Corps
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Corps is a volunteer group of local clergy, who, with specialized training provide a valuable service to the officers and the citizens of Knox County. An increasing number of cities and counties are recognizing the fact that personal crisis is something that happens all too frequently in people’s lives. The Chaplains assist and facilitate the specific needs of people during those times of crisis.
