THP and KCSO Conduct Sobriety Check Point PDF Print E-mail

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol conducted a joint sobriety check point on July 4th.  They set up in the 8700 block of Asheville Highway from 11:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.  Eleven citations were issued for equipment and registration violations.  Four people were arrested for DUI and one for underage consumption.  One was charged with driving on a suspended license, three for driving on a revoked license and one for obstructing justice.  Two were arrested for fleeing and reckless endangerment.  One person was charged with marijuana possession.

 There were no fatalities during the holiday weekend.
