The suspect wanted in a series of break-ins early Tuesday morning was arrested without incident Tuesday afternoon.  Acting on information that the suspect, 28 year old Dennis Lee Logan, Jr. was in the Merchant’s Road area, an undercover officer with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office spotted him in a green Astro Van at 1:22.  The officer stopped the van at I-640 and Broadway and took Logan into custody.  Logan told the officer that he was the one police were looking for.   The female driver was not charged.

He has been charged with burglary, theft and vandalism at the Modern Woodman on Rutledge Pike.  Other charges are pending as the investigation continues into other break-ins.

Logan has also been charged with assaulting Officer Mitchell Grimes when he tried to arrest him earlier on Tuesday and fled after fighting with the officer.  Other charges related to that incident are evading arrest, theft, and driving while privilege suspended.video.jpg

Logan has a criminal history that includes assault, theft, and property crimes.  He is being held in the Knox County Jail under a total bond of $26,500.  His address is listed as Bob Street in Knoxville.

Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones said, “Mr. Logan went on a mini-crime spree, but picked the wrong county.”

A female who was with Logan in a stolen van when Officer Grimes attempted to arrest him was charged with theft.  Twenty year old Amber Corum is being held in the Knox County Jail on a $9,000 bond.
