personal information is kept private and secure. When you submit
information that includes personal data to the Sheriff's Department
through this web site, we retain your information for follow-up
purposes only. This process is identical to the system employed when
you report a crime or other problem to your respective patrol district
or to a police officer. As a consequence, your name will not be
disclosed outside this department except as required and permitted by
law.
If the information you submitted was done anonymously, we will make no
attempt to obtain your identity except in circumstances where it may be
pivotal to prevent the loss of life or property.
Information that might identify you does not accompany your anonymous
online information submissions unless you provide it. However, some of
the online report and submission forms require a name and phone number.
In such cases the information must be submitted before the form will be
processed.
On some pages we have used cookies to keep track of your frequency of
visits to our web site. This is done solely to allow us to present
unique content to you and not to determine your identity. Information
you submit using any of our online forms IS NOT stored as a cookie. You
