Brothers Charged with Murder PDF Print E-mail

Two brothers have been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of a man early Saturday morning.  It happened at the Big D Market at 6501 Maynardville Highway shortly before 2:30 a.m.  The brothers, 19 year old Fernando Correa-Miramontes and 18 year old Jose Correa-Miramontes, took two victims, 23 year old Oscar Quevedo and 27 year old Pablo Benitez-Diaz to the market and robbed them at knife point.  Benitez-Diaz escaped from the vehicle without harm and ran for safety.  Quevedo, however was stabbed and his body was left on the side of Maynardville Highway.  Before he died, he was able to give detectives the first names of the suspects and the tag number of the vehicle.

KCSO Detectives tracked the suspects to a house where they were staying at 2023 Harold Street and found the vehicle and suspects.  They were taken into custody without incident.  Both are being held on first degree murder charges and especially aggravated robbery for a total bond of $525,000.  The brothers are from Long Beach, California, but have lived in Knoxville for the past 6 months.  The victims are also from Knoxville.
