gilberttimothy_67407_06-17-1972_front.jpg The Knox County Sheriff’s Office charged a Knoxville man with two counts of aggravated assault in the stabbing of two men late Wednesday afternoon.  Thirty-six year old Timothy Curtis Gilbert of 404 Tammy Drive is being held on a $75,000 bond.  He is accused of stabbing two men in the back of his apartment complex on Tammy Drive shortly after 5 o’clock.

According to the arrest report, when officers arrived on the scene, James Andrews (no age available) said that he and his friend Anthony Jones (no age available) had gotten into a physical altercation with Gilbert and Gilbert had pulled out a knife and stabbed Jones in the chest.  Andrews said he tried to break up the fight, but then Gilbert stabbed him in the right leg and buttock.  Christopher Jones (no age available) was in the victims’ vehicle and said he was in fear for his life as well as his friends, so he drove the car into Gilbert to stop him.  The victims got into the car and headed to a hospital.  They were pulled over on I-75 South by the Knoxville Police Department who got them transported by Rural Metro to the U.T. Medical Center.  Jones was taken into surgery and Andrews was treated and released. Gilbert had minor injuries and did not require treatment.
