Neubert Road Shooting PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 08 January 2009

A man may have been shot Wednesday night at an incident at 8915 Neubert Road in East Knox County.  When officers arrived at 8:22 they found George King bleeding from the face and hands.  He said that he saw two male suspects on his front porch and got his 22 caliber revolver and opened the front door.  He said the suspects began fighting him and forced him to the floor.  King said when he noticed that suspect on top of him had a small revolver, he fired two rounds and may have shot the suspect in the abdomen.  Forensics removed one small caliber round from the door.

The other suspect had what appeared to be an assault rifle pointed at Norma Slagle, who lives there and was the only other person in the house at the time of the incident.  King said that after he shot the suspect, the other one came over and struck him with the butt of the rifle and grabbed his gun.  Rural Metro treated King on the scene for minor injuries.

The suspects fled possibly in a maroon Ford Econoline van.   Descriptions of the suspects are sketchy.  Both are believed to be white males, around 30 to 40 years old.  One is described as 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches and the other one around 5 feet 8 inches to five feet ten inches.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 215-2243.
