Sheriff Jones Honors Teen for Helping Solve Burglary PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 14 January 2009

Knox County Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones honored 13 year old Robert Foust for his role in helping detectives nab two suspects who robbed Foust’s house on January 8, 2009.  The teen was alone at his house at 9708 Old Rutledge Pike when he saw two men at the front door at 4 o’clock.  One of the suspects went to a back door and broke in.  Robert hid in a bathroom and called his mother, then called 911 and stayed on the phone until a family friend arrived and the suspects fled.  Robert was able to describe the green Honda that the suspect got away in, down to the duct tape on a rear window.  He also got the tag number, which enabled detectives to identify the suspects and picked the suspects out of a photo line-up.

Just a few hours after the robbery, detectives tracked down the suspects and arrested them for aggravated burglary and theft.  The suspects are 29 year old Jonathan Eichholz from Knoxville and his 27 year old brother Joshua from New Market.  Both remain in the Knox County Detention Facility.  Jonathan is being without bond because he violated probation.  Joshua is being held on a $15,000 bond.

Sheriff Jones presented Foust with an Honorary Deputy of Knox County certificate.  “I credit his clear thinking and bravery for helping our detectives apprehend the two suspects very quickly.  Robert made an outstanding witness and handled the situation with maturity. We’re thankful he didn’t put himself in harm’s way and this incident had a happy ending.”
