The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman who worked in the Knox County Trustee’s Office on three counts of forgery and one of theft.  Twenty-three year old Oneissa Puckett is being held on a $5,000 bond at the Knox County Jail.   According to the warrant, on Wednesday, December  17, 2008, Puckett deposited a stolen and forged check into her Knox County Credit Union account.  The checks were drawn from the account of Carl Setzer.  Setzer said that he had left his checkbook at the Clerk’s Office on Chapman Highway when he paid his county taxes to Puckett, who worked there at the time.
Puckett removed five checks from the checkbook and made three of them to herself in the amounts of $616, $300, and $350.

Knox County Trustee Fred Sisk and his office assisted when informed of the investigation.  As the investigation continues, other charges are pending.
