hallalexander_91329_01-16-1990_front.jpgNineteen Year old Alex Hall was arraigned today at the Knox County Detention Facility and remains in jail.  Vandalism was added to his other charges, which include attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest.  He is accused of going to a neighbor’s house on Long Bowl Road on Saturday, January 17th around 5 a.m. and slashing a tire and breaking out a window of a BMW with a baseball bat.

Later that day, Hall assaulted his mother and covered her face with a paper towel soaked with ammonia.  The father intervened and when officers arrived at their home at 1528 Crescent Oaks Lane, Hall lunged at deputies with a six inch knife.  Officer Matt Trott fired two rounds, hitting Hall in the thumb and shoulder.  He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment and was released late Monday.  No one else was injured.

Trott, who is 26 years old, has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2004.  He is on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
