 Joshua Lee Bowman

 Gary Scott Holman

 Chad Edward Medford

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has charged three people in connection with the death of a Corryton man. 52 year old Bill Graves, Sr. was shot in his Washington Pike home on May 2nd and later died at a local hospital from his injury.

After interviewing numerous persons of interest, detectives were led to a suspect.  They expanded the investigation, which then led to two other suspects.

Twenty-seven year old Gary Scott Holman of 7001 Pleasant Ridge Road in Knoxville has been charged with first degree murder.  His bond is set at one million dollars.  Twenty-seven year old Josh Lee Bowman of 200 McGill Street in Madisonville has also been charged with first degree murder and also has a one million dollar bond.  Twenty-six year old Chad Edward Medford of 170 Ritzview Drive in Blaine has been charged with facilitation of first degree murder.  His bond is set at $500,000.

Holman and Bowman have extensive criminal histories which include traffic offenses, drug charges, aggravaged assault, violations of probation, robbery and theft.  Medford has one charge of simple possession on his record.

Graves and his wife were in their living room when two men forced their way into the house and held the couple at gunpoint.  Graves and one of the intruders exchanged gunfire and Graves was shot in the leg.  The suspects got away with a safe, which was found opened and empty a short distance from the house.

Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones praised the detectives who worked on the investigation.  “I am so proud of the professionalism and dedication of our detectives who worked hundreds of hours on this case.”  He also thanked Sheriff Earl Loy, Jr. of Union County and Sheriff David Ray of Claiborne for helping KCSO locate and question several persons of interest in their counties.  He also thanked Sheriff Tim Guider of Loudon County for assisting with the arrest of one of the suspects.
