 Robert Cheek

Dustin Jones

Jeremy Gordon

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects Wednesday night wanted for robbing two Knox County convenience stores and four in the city.  Charged with aggravated robbery are 27 year old Robert Cheek, 27 year old Dustin Jones, and 22 year old Jeremy Gordon.  Charges are pending with the city.  All three live at Deane Hill Apartments.  They are accused of robbing the Pilot on Middlebrook Wednesday morning and the Weigel’s on Ebenezer Tuesday night.  Two of the suspects have admitted their involvement in the robberies.

They were apprehended shortly before midnight when a KCSO patrol officer spotted a Ford Escort parked at the Weigel’s on Ebenezer which had been robbed on Tuesday night.  The car matched the description given including the right taillight which was out.  The officer followed the car to Cross Park at Cedar Bluff where he made a traffic stop.  All three suspects were in the car and taken into custody without incident.  Officers found the bandanas, hats, mirrored sunglasses, a BB gun, the blue latex gloves, and clothing used in the robberies.  A search of their apartment turned up more clothing worn during the crimes and the cigarettes stolen from the Pilot.

All three have criminal histories including theft, burglary, and drug charges.
