Teen Shot by Homeowner is Charged PDF Print E-mail

A fifteen year old boy who was shot by a homeowner on September 28, 2009 was taken into custody today along with a 16 year old accomplice and charged with attempted aggravated robbery. The incident occurred at a house at 838 Lester Road in South Knox County. When Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, they found the 15 year old in the road with a gunshot wound. The homeowner, Jonathan Stevens, told officers that he heard his dogs barking and went outside with his pistol to check the property. Stevens said when he got to the driveway, the 15 year old pointed a shotgun at him and fired one round. Stevens fired his gun twice at the suspect and hit him in the chest and lower body. The 16 year old accomplice was hiding in the woods at the time of the incident. According to officers, the two had planned to rob Stevens. The suspects’ names are not being released because they are minors.
