Two Charged with Aggravated Robbery, PDF Print E-mail

Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men Monday night and charged them with robbing two women in their home in South Knox County last week.   Douglas Maples and Sergio Smith, both 23 years old, were taken into custody without incident and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and vandalism.

 The incident happened November 19, 2009 at 8813 Sevierville Pike.  The victim, June Holder, said that she and her daughter were in the back of the house when the two suspects kicked in the front door.  The suspects  were wearing black hoods over their faces and one pointed a silver handgun at one woman while the other  suspect threatened the other woman with a wooden tire tool.  The suspects took a purse, credit cards, debit card, money, and cell phone.  Other charges are pending in connection with the use of the credit card and debit card.

Maples and Smith have criminal records including burglary, traffic violations, failure to appear, evading arrest, drug charges, and theft.
