A Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested an armed robbery suspect less than an hour after the incident.  Patrol Officer Ernie Bowman spotted the suspect’s vehicle at a convenience store at Emory and Dry Gap and arrested the suspect.  Thirty-two year old Brian Tweed from Dayton, Ohio is in the Knox County Detention Center tonight charged with aggravated robbery and has a $50,000 bond.  He is also a suspect is several other armed robberies in the area.

According to KCSO Detective Aaron Yarnell, Tweed entered the pharmacy area of the Food City on Hardin Valley around 1 p.m. where he pulled a silver revolver on a clerk and demanded that she fill a bag with pain medication.  She complied and he went out a side door where witnesses saw him leave in a Range Rover.  Deputy Bowman saw the vehicle at the Weigel’s and took the suspect into custody without incident.  The revolver and pain medication were found in the vehicle.

Tweed has no address in Knoxville. Yarnell said he has been in the area for the past five months and has bounced from one residence to another.  He has a felony history in Ohio.  A mug shot is not available at this time.
