Farragut Man Convicted of Child Porn PDF Print E-mail

scottdavid_35145_01-01-1961_front.jpgAfter a lengthy investigation involving local and Federal law enforcement, David Allen Scott pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on December 3, 2009 to production of Child Pornography.

Scott, who is 48 years old, had been the target of an ongoing investigation involving the U.S. Postal Inspectors and Knoxville Police Department Internet Crimes against Children Unit.  In a separate investigation involving a local child, in April of 2009, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at Scott’s house in Farragut.  In excess of 2,000 images of child pornography was recovered on his computers.  He was arrested on April 28, 2009 for possessing more than 100 child pornography images and was held in the Knox County jail on a $500,000 bond.   The FBI continued the investigation, resulting in the US Attorney’s office filing charges of possession and production of child pornography.

Scott faces 15 to 30 years when he is sentenced in April of 2010.  Scott remains in jail awaiting sentencing in April 2010.  He faces 15 to 30 years.
