The three suspects accused in the robbery of a West Knox County bank on Wednesday have been arrested and charged with robbery.

Thirty-two year old Troy W. Davis, Sr. of Phillips Avenue was identified as the suspect who went into the Sun Trust Bank at 11441 Kingston Pike Wednesday afternoon and gave a note to a teller.  The note said that there was a bomb attached to the building.  The clerk handed over money and Davis was seen leaving the bank in a red Mazda pick up truck with two other men.

A Knox County Deputy stopped the truck a few minutes later on Watt Road and took Davis into custody.  The other two men, 39 year old James Rufus Bush of Bertrand Street, Knoxville and 26 year old Jason Levi McCurry of Gilbert Lane, Knoxville fled on foot into a wooded area.  They were apprehended a short time later by officers with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office.

Bond for Davis is set at $50,000; $30,000 for McCurry; and $40,000 for Bush.  All three have criminal histories.  Davis has a lengthy record going back over ten years which includes numerous failures to appear, felony DUI, aggravated robbery, violation of  drivers license law, public intoxication, vehicular homicide, trespassing, and aggravated assault.

Bush also has a long criminal record dating back to 1986, which consists mostly of drug charges, failures to appear, and traffic offenses.  In contrast, McCurry’s record is short with a theft charge in 1999 and a DUI in 2007.

The KCSO and the FBI worked this case as a joint operation.
