A Mascot father and son have been charged in connection with a hit and run involving an undercover KCSO deputy Thursday night.  The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at Rutledge Pike at Loves Creek.  Forty-nine year old Ronald Dean Rosenbaum was driving and his son 27 year old Ronald Samuel was a passenger when their car rammed into the officer’s vehicle and they fled.  Ronald Samuel was taken into custody when he was found intoxicated and unsteady on his feet walking on Loves Creek Road.  His father fled again when officers tried to stop him on Chilhowee Drive near the Interstate.  He was forced to stop at Silvia Drive where an officer took him into custody.

Robert Dean has been charged with vehicular assault, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, evading arrest, and driving while privilege suspended.  His son was charged with public intoxication.  Both men have extensive criminal records ranging from public intoxication, theft, burglary, evading arrest, driving while privilege suspended, failures to appear, reckless driving, assault, larceny, and driving under the influence.

The officer received minor injuries and was treated and released from the University of Tennessee Medical Center.  His vehicle was totaled.
