Detectives with the Knox County Sheriff's Office are investigting a robbery that occurred Tuesday morning shortly before noon in South Knox County.

A woman who lives at 1617 Young Avenue answered the door when two young women knocked and asked to use her phone. She let them in and immediately one of them pulled what is believed to be a semi-automatic pistol and directed her accomplice to take a box containing medication which was on a table along with some money, jewelry, and a small stereo. They told the victim not to call anyone for ten minutes. The victim, 65 year old Norris Smithers watched as the women walked toward Eddington. A KCSO K-9 tracked the suspects to that area before losing the track. Smithers was taken by Rural Metro to Baptist Hospital with chest pains. The suspects are described as being in their early to mid-twenties. One is described as a tall, thin blonde with hair past her shoulders. She was wearing a black coat and jeans and has a scar on her right hand. The second woman has red hair and was also wearing a black coat with baggy, flared jeans. She has numerous piercings in her ears, and one each in her lip and nose and had on black lipstick. Anyone with information is asked to call the Knox County Sheriff's Office at 215-2243.
