jonesjohn_09402_02-29-1948_front.jpgOfficers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Crime Task Force and the Department of Corrections arrested a man Friday morning who escaped from a work release program in 1975.  Sixty year old John Lewis Jones of Minnesota Avenue was taken into custody after several weeks of research to make sure he was identified correctly.  He was initially tracked down as juvenile officers looked for his daughter who has several outstanding probation violations.  Jones was arrested without incident.

Since walking off a Department of Corrections work detail on Riverside Drive in 1975, he has gone by many aliases and under those aliases has been charged with a variety of crimes including trespassing, evading arrest, larceny, drug charges, and even a homicide charge in another state.

He will be transported to Brushy Mountain Prison after being processed in the Knox County Detention Facility.
