The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed a West Knox County pharmacy Tuesday afternoon.Around 2:30, a white male entered the CVS pharmacy located at 11946 Kingston Pike and presented a note which said he had a gun and demanded oxycodone.He was given the pills and the suspect left the store without incident.The pharmacist said he kept his hands in his pockets and did not show a weapon.
He’s described as 6 feet tall, thin build, around 150 pounds, and was wearing a dark polo shirt, kaki cargo pants, light running shoes, light colored ball cap, and sunglasses.

Thirty-four year old Benjamin K. Fowler is identified as the second suspect in a shooting incident that left three people dead early Saturday morning in a South Knox County home.He has been charged with two counts of felony murder and is in the Knox County Detention Facility being held without bond.Fowler and 20 year old Ronald H. Carter III went to the home of Larry Doyal at 8736 Highland Circle shortly before 1 a.m.Detectives believe the suspects were there to obtain narcotics from Doyal’s son 32 year old Robert.The two suspects opened fire killing Robert Doyal and Larry Doyal’s fiancée63 year old Judy Adams.Larry Doyal grabbed a gun during the incident and returned fire and is believed to have shot both suspects, killing Carter.Fowler ran from the scene and called a relative to take him to Blount Memorial Hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the hip.KCSO had an outstanding theft warrant on Fowler and arrested him as soon as he was discharged from the hospital Sunday afternoon.
Fowler does not have an address, but had been living with friends.This incident is classified as an especially aggravated robbery, not a home invasion.
Knox County will take a major step forward in the use of alternative energy on Thursday, July 15th, at 11 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Detention Facility when it unveils one of the nation’s largest solar farms at the facility.The project was built with stimulus funds through a DOE Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.A special ceremony in the Multi-Purpose Room of the facility will kick off the project.
The solar farm will provide most of the hot water needed for more than the 1,000 inmates housed at the Detention Facility.The installation features 300 solar collectors and will produce and store nearly 14,000 gallons of hot water every day.It’s expected to reduce carbon emissions by 174 tons annually and save $60,000 in natural gas expenses every year.
Officials from Trane and DOE will be part of the ceremony along with Knox County Mayor Ragsdale and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones.
A Knoxville man in 4th Session Court for a bonded arraignment made a run for it when he found out the District Attorney General’s Office wanted to charge him with violation of probation because of new charges.Thirty-two year old Timothy Chudley ran from court at 9:45 Tuesday morning and was caught 11 minutes later on Neyland Drive by Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies.Chudley is now being held without bond until his next court hearing on July 27th.He was in court on charges of DUI second offense, driving on a suspended license, and violation of implied consent.Chudley was on probation for theft.
