 Brandy Shown

A shoplifting call Wednesday at 1:00 pm that originated from the Food City on Maynardville Highway ended in a crash a short time later. A white female and a white male stole four cans of formula, and assaulted a store manager on the way out.  The two suspects, along with a third male that stayed in the vehicle, escaped in a blue Ford Probe with drive out tags. A few minutes later, the car crashed in a vacant parking lot, hitting the front end of a vehicle sitting at the traffic light.  The woman driving that vehicle did not have a driver’s license.  According to witness statements, the two males fled on foot, leaving the female with the two children in the car.  She fled as well with the two children.

Officers located the woman and her children at the grandmother’s house later.  The children were examined by EMS on the scene and determined to have only minor injuries.  DCS was notified and responded to the house.  The female identifed as 25 year old Brandy Shown was charged with shop lifting and simple assault.  Her bond has not yet been set.

The two males have numerous warrants and a lengthy criminal history, and Officers are actively searching for them.

 Juanita Roberts

 Wade Dickens

Narcotics Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people in connection with a meth lab Wednesday afternoon.  Officers acting on a tip found a meth lab in a mobile home located at 4515 Circle Road off Rutledge Pike.  A two year old boy was at the home with a woman identified as his grandmother and an adult male.  All were decontaminated at the scene and the boy was taken to Children’s Hospital for evaluation per law.  He did not appear to have any injuries.  His biological parents were notified and were with him at the hospital.

Officers arrested 45 year old Juanita Roberts and 47 year old Wade Dickens and charged them with promotion of a meth lab and child abuse.  They are being held in the Knox County Jail.  Bond information is unavailable at this time.  Both gave the mobile home as their address.  They each have histories of drug arrests.

Officers found meth lab components in the house and say the lab was not active, but had been several days ago.
