Burglary Suspect Captured in Taxi Cab

Thursday, 22 September 2011

On Tuesday, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28 year old David Henderson of Knoxville for multiple city and county residential burglaries. Thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry and electronics were recovered. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office had been investigating Henderson for outstanding burglary and probation violation warrants, and spotted him in a taxi cab at a gold store on Magnolia. Henderson had called the cab to an address in Holston Hills he had just burglarized to take him to sell the stolen property. He was arrested without incident within an hour of two home burglaries. Henderson has admitted to at least 10 burglaries in the north and east end of the county and six on the east side of the city. Henderson is being held at the Knox County Detention Facility on two aggravated burglaries and one theft warrant with a $31,000 bond. He also has two violations of the Community Alternatives to Prison Program (CAPP) with bonds denied.  The investigation is continuing with additional charges expected.

Henderson has a lengthy criminal history of aggravated burglary, drug possession, and theft.
