West Knox County Meth Lab Bust

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve two Violation of Probation warrants on an individual at 1231 Lovell Road. The individual was not at the residence. While there, officers smelled ammonia and called the KCSO Narcotics Unit. When the Narcotics Unit arrived, an active methamphetamine lab was found at the residence. Officers found three individuals, 31-year-old Shinna Rutherford, 23-year-old Jessica Ezell, and 50-year-old Christopher Farmer hiding inside and outside of the residence. 30-year-old Shane Whittier was found nearby hiding under a porch. All four were taken into custody without incident and charged with Initiation of Production of Methamphetamine. Rutherford's bond was set at $35,000.00, Ezell's bond was set at $50,000.00, Farmer's bond was set at $60,000.00, and Whittier's bond was set at $75,000.00.

Two stolen vehicles and one generator were recovered from the property. The house is in the process of being quarantined.
