Officer T-Boned While En Route to Call

Monday, 19 March 2012

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Monday night, an officer with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was T-boned while responding to a call in West Knox County. The officer was traveling westbound with his K-9 at the intersection of West Town Way and the I-40 off-ramp when his vehicle was T-boned on the passenger's side by a 2001 gray Buick LeSabre traveling eastbound on West Town Way.

The officer was transported by Rural Metro to UT Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Neither the driver of the Buick nor the K-9 was injured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol was not a factor. The driver of the Buick will be cited for failure to yield.
