Single-vehicle West Knox County Crash

Tuesday, 27 March 2012

Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Monday night, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Middlebrook Pike at Countryside Center Lane in West Knox County. According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a 1998 black Jeep Grand Cherokee was driving westbound on Middlebrook Pike when he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle struck the divider in the middle of the road, flipped, and landed upright in between the eastbound and southbound lanes of Middlebrook Pike at Countryside Center Lane. The driver was ejected. He was transported by Rural Metro to UT Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and will be cited for a seat belt violation. He had no passengers. It is unknown at this time whether or not speed or alcohol was a factor.
