UPDATE: Suspect Charged with Three Murders

Monday, 21 May 2012

Fifty-one year old Paul Moore, Jr. is in the Knox County Detention Facility charged with the first degree murders of his wife, her twin sister, and another woman.  He is being held on a $1.5 million dollar bond ($500,000 for each).  He was taken into custody at his brother's house on Hickory Street around 3:00 p.m. Monday by Knoxville Police Department officers who then turned him over to the KCSO.  His brother called 911 to report the incident.  The suspect's pistol was recovered in a wooded area near his brother's house.

Each of the victims had been shot.  They are identified as the suspect's wife, 39 year old Christina Moore, her twin sister Bridgett Stagnolia of Anderson County, and 24 year old Amber Snellings also of Anderson County.  Autopsies are scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.  The victims were discovered by KCSO officers at the couple's apartment on Old Clinton Pike Monday afternoon.

According to the warrant, Paul Moore, Jr. admitted to shooting his wife and claimed not to remember shooting the other two women.

The motive appears to be domestic related.
