Attempted Kidnapping Suspect Arrested

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man shortly after he attempted to kidnap his ex-girlfriend on Tuesday. 24-year-old Clarence Harvey Mock, III broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home in the 100 block of Confederacy Circle through the back door. He bound her legs and arms with duct tape and attempted to carry her out the front door. Witnesses attempted to force their way inside through the back door, which Mock had blocked with a chair. Mock removed the tape from the victim, left the house through the front door, and fled in his vehicle.

Mock was arrested shortly after without incident by KCSO officers at his home at 5916 Westmere Drive in West Knox County. He is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, and simple assault with a combined bond amount of $151,000.00. Mock has a criminal history in Knoxville including driving under the influence and theft.
