KCSO to Host "Ride for Life"

Monday, 24 September 2012

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is hosting a motorcycle run called “Ride for Life” on October 6th to raise money for the KCSO Life Skills program.

Life Skills is a highly effective evidence-based substance abuse program that teaches 5th grade students how to say “no” to drugs, make healthy choices, resolve conflicts, and to take charge of their lives. 3,000 Knox County students were reached last year. KCSO has specially trained officers who serve as instructors of this program. The money raised will be used to purchase materials needed to teach the Life Skills Program.

The motorcycle run will begin at Harley Davidson on Clinton Highway, travel to Norris Dam, and end at Harley Davidson on Clinton Hwy.  It will be escorted by the KCSO Traffic Unit motorcycles. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and kick stands go up at 11:00 a.m. Several door prizes, including a two night stay at the Edgewater Hotel in Gatlinburg and a one night stay at the Park Vista in Gatlinburg, will be awarded.   Lunch will be provided by Noodles Inc., and Entertainment will be provided by Sixer6.
