Online Sex Sting Leads to 15 Arrests

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 15 people since last month in connection with prostitution utilizing the website “backpage.com .” Undercover officers responded to ads posted by prostitutes offering their services on backpage.com and then met with the prostitutes. At that time, the prostitutes and those facilitating prostitution were taken into custody.

KCSO investigators most recent investigation using backpage.com led to their first arrest on October 4 when they took 29-year-old Melissa Joy Hasty and 25-year-old Ashley Nichole Schostek into custody. Hasty is charged with promoting prostitution, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession. Schostek is charged with prostitution.

More arrests were made throughout the months of October and November. 34-year-old Kristen Debralyn Lowry is charged with promoting prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.22-year-old Talor Spring Treece is charged with promoting prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia. 26-year-old Tanya Marie Abbs is charged with promoting prostitution. 28-year-old Lisa Jane Wells is charged with promoting prostitution. 34-year-old Danell Lynne Winans is charged with promoting prostitution. 24-year-old Dustin Allen Moore is charged with promoting prostitution. 24-year-old Jessica Noel Barlow is charged with promoting prostitution. 24-year-old Paula Rose Marie Dishman is charged with promoting prostitution. 20-year-old Tiffany Lynn Barnhart is charged with promoting prostitution. 27-year-old Tavaris Green is charged with promoting prostitution and driving without a license. 22-year-old Jessica Leigh Giles is charged with promoting prostitution. 26-year-old Kristi Marie Jones is charged with promoting prostitution. 34-year-old Steven Lee Bishop is charged with promoting prostitution.
