Man Charged with Robbing Same Pharmacy Three Times

Wednesday, 19 January 2011

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 28 year old man less than thirty minutes after he robbed a North Knox County pharmacy of pain medication.  Phillip Robinson was taken into custody after admitting that he had not only just robbed the Kmart pharmacy at 6909 Maynardville Highway but had also robbed it two other times of narcotics.  He is in the Knox County Detention Facility charged with one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of robbery for a total bond of $20,000.

Robinson said he robbed the pharmacy on January 3, 10, and the 19th.  Two Knox County officers were across the street from the Kmart Wednesday morning when the 11:30 incident was dispatched.  They saw the suspect run from the store and behind the building.  They followed him to a neighborhood on Cunningham Road and when the suspect saw the officers in his backyard at 3630 Cunningham Road, he gave himself up, saying “I’m the one you’re looking for.”

Robinson was convicted of robbing a CVS pharmacy on Emory Road in 2009 and was given unsupervised probation for three years.  He also has a conviction for domestic assault in 2010.

Charges have been dropped against a suspect who had been charged in one of the Kmart pharmacy robberies.
