Pharmacy Robber Caught Minutes after Crime

Thursday, 27 January 2011
Larissa Caudill

Quick action by Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies resulted in the arrest of a woman who robbed a West Knox County pharmacy early Thursday morning.  Twenty-nine year old Larissa Caudill was taken into custody just minutes after the robbery at the Walgreens at 9200 Middlebrook Pike at 1:53 a.m.  Caudill gave the clerk a note saying that she had a gun and demanded narcotics.  The clerk complied and no one was injured.  Officer Eric Kern was near the store at the time of the robbery and within minutes of the 911 call had a description of Caudill and her car.   Caudill drove past Sergeant Chris Bryant, who supervises the Highway Interdiction Team, on Old Cedar Bluff Road.  He initiated a traffic stop and Caudill was taken into custody without incident.  Officers recovered the narcotics and note in her car.

Caudill told detectives that she robbed the pharmacy because of her drug addiction.  She is in the Knox County Jail charged with robbery and has a $7,500 bond.  She does not have a criminal history in Knox County.  She told officers that she is homeless.
