Additional Charges for Coker and Porter

Additional charges have been filed against two men (arrested on March 13th) who are responsible for numerous burglaries and thefts.

32-year-old Nathan Shane Coker of 3017 Masters Lane and 30-year-old James Tyler Porter of 1910 Callahan Road were arrested on Callahan Road on March 13th after running on foot from officers for approximately 15 minutes.

The arrests came after a lengthy investigation tying Coker to numerous burglaries and thefts that occurred in Knox County and Porter to cases in Knox County, Anderson County, and Union County.

Coker was initially charged with aggravated burglary and five counts of failure to appear. He is now charged with six additional aggravated burglary charges, one theft charge, and one vandalism charge.

Porter, initially charged with theft, has incurred an additional theft charge.

Both men are being held in the KCSO Detention Facility. Coker is being held on a $177,500 bond, and Porter is being held on a $15,000 bond.

Coker has a criminal history in Knox County that includes possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary, aggravated burglary, theft, and forgery. Porter’s Knox County criminal history includes domestic assault, theft, burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, simple possession, reckless driving, vandalism, and aggravated criminal trespass.
