KCSO Chaplain Drives Car into Weigel's

Tuesday, 16 April 2013

A chaplain with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office said his county car malfunctioned causing him to drive into the front of the Weigal’s located on Lonas Road Tuesday afternoon.  The store sustained heavy damage and one woman was transported by ambulance to Tennova at Turkey Creek for minor injuries.  The chaplain, 74 year old Dennis Croucher, was on his way to the Elks Lodge to give the invocation for the KCSO Officer of the Month ceremony.  He was driving an unmarked Crown Victoria.  A reconstruction team from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and is investigating.
