Arrest in Parker Shooting

Detectives with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 41 year old man for shooting a man in the head Sunday morning.  Douglas England is in the Knox County Detention Facility under a $100,000 bond charged with attempted first degree murder.  According to the warrant, on February 27, about 10:57, England did knowingly and intentionally shoot and attempt to kill Mike Parker at his residence located at 3021 Rifle Range Road.

The Incident Report states that a woman who spent the night at Parker’s house said she was awakened when Douglas England entered the residence and that she and England found Parker slumped in his chair.  Parker was transported by ambulance to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he is being treated.

England, who is lists his address as Garfield Avenue in Knoxville,, has a criminal history in Knox County that includes theft, aggravated burglary, and various traffic offenses.
