Identities of Double Fatality Released

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two men killed in a car crash Thursday evening in North Knox County. They are 73-year-old Delford Marlow, Sr. and 38-year-old Delford J. Marlow, Jr. both of Raccoon Valley Road in Heiskell. The driver of the vehicle in which they were traveling was 44-year-old Driver Kimberly Lynn Pointer of Raccoon Valley Road. Pointer was traveling eastbound on Raccoon Valley Road when her vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle head-on. Marlow, Jr. and Marlow, Sr. were pronounced dead on the scene. Pointer was flown to UT Medical Center by Lifestar.

The names of the other two victims have not yet been released.

According to the preliminary investigation, Delford, Sr. and Delford, Jr. were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Pointer was wearing a seat belt. Possible charges are pending.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the assistance of the white male driving a small, faded red Chevy pickup who was traveling behind Pointer. He witnessed the crash and stopped at the scene. His assistance in the investigation would be greatly appreciated and he is asked to call the KCSO at (865) 215-2243.
