March 2013 Detective of the Month

Monday, 13 May 2013

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office congratulates March’s Detective of the Month, Detective Joey Cook.

At the beginning of March, KCSO detectives were working multiple residential burglary cases and had identified two suspects.  On March 13th, Detective Cook located one of the suspect’s vehicles at the other one’s home. Detective Cook called for other units to respond and, after a brief pursuit involving KCSO officers, one K9 Unit, and a helicopter, both suspects were taken into custody.

Detective Cook interviewed the suspects and was able to identify additional victimized homes and recover stolen property. One of the suspects was charged with seven residential burglaries and one theft in Knox County. He was also charged with four residential burglaries in Anderson County and aggravated burglary and felony theft in Union County. The other suspect was charged with two counts of theft.

Detective Cook has been with the KCSO since March 1985.
