A Knoxville man was arrested on June 7 at his house where investigators found 229 marijuana plants in several different stages of growth.  Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office took 39 year old Jeremy Welker of 714 Idlewood Lane into custody after they found the marijuana, grow lights, fans, and other equipment.  The plants were set up in three different rooms in the bottom floor of the residence.

Welker is being held at the Knox County Detention Facility under a $16,500 bond, charged with 2 counts of manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.  He’s scheduled to be in Felony Court for a preliminary hearing on June 17. The arrest was the culmination of a month long investigation.
