Knox County Man Arrested for Drugs and Stolen Property

Friday, 12 July 2013

A Knox County man is being held in the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on an $11,000 bond following a search of his residence on Thursday. 26-year-old Joshua Derek Thomas is charged with two counts of theft and one count of drugs.

On Thursday at 10:35 a.m., KCSO officers, along with officers from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, went to a house at 2406 Woods Smith Road to locate a suspect wanted for questioning by the BCSO. Officers found a motorcycle parked in the driveway that had been reported stolen. Thomas answered the door and refused consent to search his residence. Officers obtained a search warrant and found a handgun that had been reported stolen and six vials of a clear liquid substance believed to be steroids in his bedroom.
