Carter Elementary School Burglary

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people in connection with a Carter Elementary School burglary that occurred last month. According to the initial investigation, KCSO officers responded to the school just before 9:00 p.m. on July 20th after receiving a call that it had been vandalized. Officers found that the glass in the back door had been broken out and later discovered that 20 new iMac computers had been stolen.

Five computers have been recovered and two men have been arrested. 23-year-old Kiarra Montez Byrd of Knoxville and 35-year-old Victor Laroy Harrison of Knoxville were each charged with theft and held on a $10,000 bond.

Byrd has a criminal history in Knox County that includes burglary, contributing/encouraging delinquency or unruly behavior of a child, and simple possession. Harrison’s criminal history includes criminal impersonation, simple possession, and a schedule II drugs charge.
