West Knox County Shooting Victim's Identity Released
The identity of the man shot to death on Sunday evening has been released. He is 23-year-old Ke Lonzo Deon’tez Pullens of Knoxville.
According to the initial investigation, Pullens and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Natalisha Coray Sona, were involved in a drug transaction that began at North West Middle School on Pleasant Ridge Road around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. They drove to the school to purchase approximately one ounce of marijuana from 18-year-old Joshua Allen Berry and 18-year-old Jerman Umar Jackson. Berry and Jackson got into Pullens’ vehicle and rode with him to Virginia Walker Apartments on Pleasant Ridge Road, where the victim pulled into the parking lot to examine the drugs. An argument broke out between Pullens and Berry regarding the transaction and Pullens pulled out a gun from underneath the driver’s seat. Pullens pointed the gun at Berry and a struggled ensued between the two. They rolled out of the vehicle onto the pavement, fighting for possession of the gun. Berry gained control of the gun, aimed it at the other three, and shot Pullens.
Berry is charged with second degree murder and is being held in the Knox County Sheriff’s Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.
