One Fatality over Labor Day Holiday Weekend

There was one fatality over the long Labor Day holiday weekend.  A Clinton man died after crashing his motorcycle late Friday afternoon on Everett Road.  Fifty-six year old Jack Elliot Nabors was airlifted to U.T. Hospital after he was thrown from his motorcycle when it struck a guard rail shortly before 5:30.  He died on Sunday at the hospital.  According to the traffic crash report, he failed to keep the motorcycle in the proper lane.  Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.  He was wearing a helmet.

Other traffic statistics show that the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested 12 people for DUI, issued 248 citations for various offenses, and assisted 181 motorists.  There were 11 wrecks with injury and one of those involved alcohol.

The traffic count started Friday, August 30 at 6 p.m. and ended Tuesday at 6 a.m.
