KCSO Arrests One, Searches for Another in South Knoxville

Thursday, 05 December 2013

One man is facing charges following a pursuit in South Knoxville tonight. Around 6 p.m. on Thursday evening, officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office located 23-year-old Joseph Michael Beaver in an abandoned house on A Avenue in South Knoxville. The officers knew that Beaver had one warrant for aggravated burglary and one warrant for theft against him. When officers arrived at the house, Beaver broke out a window in the house and fled on foot. The helicopter and K-9 units attempted to locate Beaver, but weather conditions were unfavorable for the helicopter. Officers took 18-year-old Jacqueline Renee Sims, who was also in the house, into custody without incident. She will be charged with criminal trespassing and false statements.

Additional charges, including criminal trespassing and fleeing, against Beaver are pending. If anyone has any information regarding Beaver’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact the KCSO at (865) 215-2243.
