Kimberlin Heights Road Crash

Sunday, 08 December 2013

One woman was sent to the hospital this afternoon following a South Knox County crash. According to the initial investigation, a woman was traveling southbound on Kimberlin Heights Road around 2:21 p.m. on Sunday. It appears as though her 2005 maroon Subaru Baja hydroplaned, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, overturn, strike a tree, and catch on fire. A bystander, 31-year-old Dustin Brackins of Seymour, pulled the woman out of the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames and emergency personnel arrived. She was transported by Rural Metro to UT Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. She had no passengers.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, and no charges will be filed. It is unknown whether or not she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
