Teacher Struck by Vehicle at Powell Middle School

Monday, 16 December 2013

A Powell Middle School teacher was not seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in the school's parking lot this afternoon. According to the initial investigation, a basketball coach from Karns Middle School was driving at the front entrance of the Powell Middle School parking lot just before 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Powell Middle School teacher 38-year-old Michelle Ranvek thought he had stopped to let her walk in front of his vehicle, but he did not see her and his vehicle rolled into her, striking her with the right front bumper.

Rural Metro responded and examined Ranvek on the scene. She refused transportation to the hospital and opted instead to seek treatment for minor injuries with her primary care physician. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident. No charges or citations will be filed.
