East Knox Head-On Crash Injures Five

Wednesday, 25 December 2013

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is working a crash that happened Wednesday evening around 6:20.  The first call to 911 was an SUV stalled on Mine Road at Mascot.  As units were in route, the call came in as a head-on.  Officers say a van swerved to miss the stalled SUV and as it swerved was hit head-on by another van.  Two women driving each of the vans were airlifted by LifeStar to U.T. Medical Center.  Rural Metro transported the other three people to U.T.  The woman in the SUV was not injured.

The KCSO Traffic Unit is investigating the crash and has Mine Road shut down at this time.  No names are available now.  More details will be posted on this web site as they become available.
