Officer Injured in Active Meth Lab Bust

Tuesday, 14 January 2014

Correction:  The correct address is 419 Cash Road and the residence is a mobile home.

An on-going investigation led Narcotics Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to an East Knox County house Tuesday afternoon where they found an active meth lab.  One officer was taken by ambulance to U.T. Medical Center for a possibly heat related issue due to the air tight suits worn for protection.

When officers arrived at 419 Cash Road around 4 p.m. they found the meth actually being cooked.  Two men and two women were at the house and are in custody.   They will be taken to jail as soon as Rural Metro decontaminates them.  The area has been secured and the lab rendered safe.  The Tennessee Meth Task Force is on the scene.  KCSO expects officers to be at the house until possibly early morning.

As details become available they will be posted on this website.
